Around The Shows
Another season draws to a close and it has been some season from Chelsea in May through to the last shows at Malvern in September and in-between a show just about every weekend. The weather has tested our resolve and although blooms were short in numbers there were still some outstanding ones on the benches. Congratulations must go to Whetman Pinks for their superb stand at Chelsea which deservingly won the coveted Gold Medal and also congratulations to Daryl and Dargem for winning their first RHS Gold at Malvern.

The GNCS shows wereon the whole short on blooms this year due to the poor growing season, although the last show at Birtley had a lot of entries with some excellent blooms on show.
The best of the Borders being Ann S Moore and Belle of Bookham.
Paul Harmers vase of Fragrant Ann caught the eye at Harrogate and it is certainly well named as the scent was very strong.
Fay Seagrave also showed a nice bloom named Raggio Di Sole in the single class and it was a deserving winner.
