Birtley PF Championship 2019

The P/F Championship attracted six entries and it was a very close call between them all.

Trevor Hogg’s vase of twelve Bill Seagrave just pipped Billy Bonas vase of twelve Lynne Earl, with Brian Duffy breathing down their necks in third with a vase of twelve Crompton Princess.

Dennis Price BNCS President and GNCS Show Secretary presents Trevor with his awards for winning the P/F Championship with the vase of Bill Seagrave which is the white self and highly scented cultivar above left.

Trevor also won the Best Bloom Award which is from the same vase.

Next to the twelve Bill Seagrave above is the runner up, a vase of twelve Lynn Earl exhibited by Bill Bonas.

Eddie Bonas won the Woodfield trophy from a class which had six entries, making it once again a very close call as there were some very good blooms on display.

Dennis is seen presenting Eddie with his award.

Bill Bonas won the Best Vase Award for his vase of three Crompton Princess, they were an extremely good vase of P/Fs

Just a few of the single P/F blooms shown at the show.

A very good vase of three blooms of the popular Heracles and the winning vase in the Novice Class, a nice vase of Clara’s Lass shown by David Baron.

Above:- from the left, Bob's winning Best Stem of Moor Keith Stockton, Moor Nell Gwynne and a new seedling from Bob which I am sure will be very popular, just superb stems and the best that I have seen for a long time, well done Bob.

That's it for another show year and that just leaves me on behalf of the GNCS with thanking all for helping make our shows such a success, especially Dobbies staff who take time out to help and a special thanks to the Judges, Barrie Gamble, Phil Cross,Peter and Kathy Booker,Fay Seagrave and Keith Mastaglio.

Finally thank you for visiting our site and reading our reports and for the encouraging feedback, if you wish to join the society then please contact Dennis and you too could be growing these wonderful flowers.

Bob Snowball cleared up in the Pink Classes, in fact won every class that he entered and his Pinks were absolutely outstanding.
