A member of Dobbies staff Christine Agar took some of the leftover grass from last year’s show, then used such as cutting material, rooted the cuttings and grew them on into a very good plant of Belmont Duchess and with some encouragement Christine entered three of the plants stems in a three stem class and to her amazement Christine won first prize along with also winning a Bronze Medal Card which was presented by the British National Carnation Society President Mr Dennis Price. Christine with her good friend Maz, just cannot contain their excitement. Personally I think this is a fantastic achievement not only to raise the plants but also to show them in our show and beat seasoned growers, well done to Christine and I hope other members of Dobbies will also give it a try as they are always welcome to take home the grass and use as cutting material after the shows. Let’s hope we see you at next years show!
